What We're Evaluating

EMS University's evaluation of the Vancouver market includes multiple factors that determine whether a high-quality EMT training program can be successfully established:

• Regulatory Requirements: British Columbia's Emergency Medical Assistants Licensing Board (EMALB) under the Emergency Medical Assistants Licensing Board (EMALB) oversees the approval of EMT training programs. We are researching the application process, facility requirements, and standards that must be met.
• Training Facility Assessment: We are evaluating potential training facilities in the Metro Vancouver area that meet the equipment, space, and safety requirements for EMT education.
• Clinical Partnership Development: EMT students require supervised clinical experiences in emergency departments and ambulance settings. We are exploring partnerships with local hospitals and EMS agencies.
• Instructor Recruitment: Any future program would need British Columbia-credentialed EMS instructors with real-world field experience.
• Community Demand: Interest list responses help us gauge demand for formal EMT training in the Vancouver area.
